About Our Council
The Occoneechee Council, Boy Scouts of America serves 12 counties in North Central North Carolina including Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Lee, Moore, Orange, Vance, Wake, and Warren. Units in our council fall in to different areas we call districts. For more information, or to find out your district, see this link here. We are one of over 270 Boy Scouts of America Council’s with a mission to bring the Scouting program to the young people of our area. For more than 100 years, Scouting has been a symbol of adventure, excitement, and achievement. Providing once-in-a-lifetime experiences that prepare the next generation of young people for a lifetime of opportunity is serious business that couldn’t be more fun. Learn more by Contacting Us.
Hiking the trail of Scouting will not just change your child’s life, it will impact your entire family. The friendships made as a Scout will last forever and the time your family spends in helping to learn and advance through the program will be worth every minute. Scouting does not just affect our youth, but us as adults as well; it makes us better parents and leaders for our communities. See how Becky has discovered a family through Cub Scouting that she can depend on for herself and her son, AJ.
