2021 Silver Beaver Award Recipients

The Silver Beaver Award is given to adult Scouters who demonstrate outstanding dedication and character through years of service to the Scouting program as well as to the communities in which they live. Occoneechee Council is proud to announce our 2021 Silver Beaver Award recipients, Scott Sublett and Brett Warner, two exceptional volunteers who truly embody the values of our organization.

Scott Sublett

Whenever a helping hand is needed, Scott is there to give it. As a member of BSA, his church and even his classic rock band, Scott is always looking for ways to give back. He has stepped up to lead at the unit, district and Council levels within Scouting, becoming a mentor to youth through his unit leadership positions as well as a mentor to adults through his many district and Council leadership positions and Wood Badge service. And he somehow also finds time to be a devoted civic leader within his church and the community surrounding him. Scott is the epitome of what it means to be a servant leader.

Brett Warner

Brett’s involvement with his son’s Pack and Troop showcases his excellence as a volunteer leader in his community. But his tireless work as a financial expert and leader on the Council board takes it a step further, as he has significantly impacted the Council’s ability to better serve the youth of every community within the Council’s territory. As the Council’s vice president of finance, he is dedicated to responsible stewardship and sustainability to support the youth of the Council, and he puts the same passionate level of care into his work with his church and community. An Eagle Scout himself, Brett’s commitment to serving others is an example to all.
